Are You Leading From Courage or Comfort? Take the 5-Question Bravery Audit
By Sam Penny – Coach for the Brave
Leading from courage.
Bravery isn’t something you have once.
It’s something you practice — or abandon — every single day.
But most business owners don’t realise when comfort starts quietly running the show.
That’s why I created the Bravery Audit — a quick self-check to find out where you're really operating from.
🧠 The 5-Question Bravery Audit
Ask yourself honestly:
1. When faced with a hard decision, do I prioritise what’s easy — or what’s right?
- Easy = Comfort Zone
- Right = Bravery
2. Do I regularly choose short-term comfort over long-term growth?
- If yes, it’s a warning sign.
- Growth demands discomfort.
3. When fear shows up, do I delay action — or lean into it?
- Hesitation feeds fear.
- Motion starves it.
4. Am I taking actions that feel risky but aligned — or just playing it safe?
- If you never feel exposed, you’re not growing.
5. At the end of most days, do I have at least one moment I’m proud of — because I chose bravery?
- No brave moments? Time to raise the bar.
⚡ How did you score?
- 4–5 brave answers: 🔥 You’re moving with serious momentum.
- 2–3 brave answers: ⚡ You’re close — a few deliberate shifts can change everything.
- 0–1 brave answers: 🚨 Comfort is calling the shots. Time to reclaim control.
🧭 The good news?
Bravery is a daily decision.
And you get another shot at it — today.
Pick the question that challenged you the most.
Make a bold move before the day ends.
Let’s stop drifting into comfort.
Let’s lead deliberately — and bravely.
